You may be added to a WhatsApp group or contacted directly by your guide prior to the hike. Please ensure your WhatsApp number and email address are accurate and regularly checked.

Cancel less than 30 days before the hike or no-show → No refund.
If the hike is cancelled due to unsafe weather or conditions beyond our control, you’ll be offered a full refund (Refunds for direct bookings may exclude third-party payment processing fees) or the option to reschedule, depending on availability.
Refunds where it is possible, will be issued to your original payment method.
Weather Policy
Hikes continue in light rain or overcast conditions.
If weather conditions are unsafe (e.g. strong wind, storm, fires), the hike may be rescheduled or cancelled at our discretion.
In such cases, guests will be offered the choice between:
a full refund (For direct or offline bookings, external platform or payment processing fees may apply) or
a rebooking (subject to availability).
Participation, Fitness & Safety
Depending on your selected route, the hike may range in difficulty and could require a reasonable level of physical fitness. Hiking routes may vary and often include uneven terrain, stone steps, and steady elevation gain. Some trails may also involve sections with exposure to heights, so a moderate level of fitness and surefootedness is recommended.
Participants are responsible for notifying the guide of any recent injuries, illnesses, or physical limitations prior to the hike.
Given the physical nature of the hike, it may not be recommended for individuals with health concerns, limited mobility, or those who are pregnant or recovering from injury.
Minimum age: 12 years. All minors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
If a child under 12 would like to join the hike, this must be discussed in advance and will be subject to the guide’s discretion based on the child’s fitness level, health, and the difficulty of the chosen route.
The booking adult is responsible for the minor’s participation and behaviour during the hike.
Cape Mountain Guides reserves the right to refuse participation if the minor arrives without proper supervision.
Guests are responsible for bringing suitable footwear, water, sun protection, and a light snack to stay energized. A headlamp may also be required for sunrise or sunset hikes (provided if not brought).
By booking and participating, guests acknowledge that they do so at their own risk and accept the inherent risks of outdoor activities — including, but not limited to, rockfalls, slips, falls, weather exposure, and physical exertion.
While Cape Mountain Guides and its guides take all reasonable precautions, we cannot be held liable for any injury, loss, damage, or delays that may occur during the hike or related services.
Cape Mountain Guides is not responsible for delays, incidents, or damages arising from third-party or self-arranged transport to or from the meeting point.
Photography & Media
Your guide will take photos and videos during the hike and share them post-hike.
We may use images and videos for promotional purposes on social media channels or websites. Please notify your guide before the hike if you prefer not to appear in photos.
Changes to Itinerary
Cape Mountain Guides reserve the right to change the start time or route (e.g. trail closure, fitness level of the group, weather) with notice.
Any change will aim to provide a similar or better experience.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Cape Town.
Insurance & Emergency Preparedness
Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance cover for medical, evacuation, or cancellation events.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, the guide may contact emergency services and take appropriate steps to assist the guest in receiving medical attention. Cape Mountain Guides is not liable for any medical or transport costs incurred as a result of injuries, emergencies, or evacuation.
Participants are responsible for arranging their own insurance cover for medical, evacuation, or cancellation events.
