KLOOFING ADVENTURE
Tour Description
Overview:
Ever wondered just how much adventure you can pack into one day in a nature reserve?
This is about as close as it gets.
Your kloofing adventure starts at The ARC of Franschhoek, where we’ll meet before transporting you to the start of the trail. From there, we head into the mountains on foot, leaving the road behind as we make our way deeper into the reserve.
There is a bit of work before the fun begins. A steep hike takes us up into the mountains, but once you reach the top and see what lies ahead, you’ll understand why the climb is worth it.
This is where the real adventure starts.
We’ll get you kitted out before making our way through the kloof, abseiling alongside waterfalls, dropping into natural rock pools and working our way down through the mountain. Expect to get wet, have a few butterflies in your stomach and experience this part of the reserve from a completely different perspective.
All the technical equipment you need is included, including your wetsuit, harness, helmet and descender. You’ll also be accompanied throughout the experience by professional, qualified guides who are there to keep things safe, relaxed and enjoyable.
Safety is a big part of how we operate. The anchor systems used at each abseil have been professionally installed and inspected, and we use a double-line system. This means you still get the experience of controlling your own descent while your guide manages a secondary safety line.
So you can focus less on worrying about the technical side and more on enjoying the waterfalls, rock pools and sheer adventure of making your way through the kloof.
If you’re looking for one of the most exciting ways to experience the mountains around Franschhoek, this is it.
